Department of Botany

Botany department of the college was established in 1971 as one of the subject in science faculty and on progress since then. The founder teacher Dr. R.A. Singh contributed a lot of work to establish the department and successfully retired in 2007 from service. At Present, the department has three faculty members, Dr. (Smt.) Meera Ojha, Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey and Mr. Sunil Singh, one lab assistant Mr. P.L. Maurya and one lab attendant . UGC funded three minor research projects, one under Dr. M. Ojha and two Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey, were successfully completed.

The department also took an active part, under supervision of Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey, in organizing one National Campaign for environmental awareness (Ministry of Environment and Wildlife) and two UGC sponsored National seminar. Five (05) students were awarded with Ph.D. degree under guidance of Dr. A.K. Pandey and two enrolled for the Ph.D. Nearly 40 research papers and 70 abstracts were published at national and international level by faculty members. A well equipped biological research lab is running with the department and members are actively engaged in teaching and research.
